IWELCOME Pendle MP Gordon Prentice's comments about British citizens who fight for the Taliban (LET, November 21).
I recently went to Rochdale to pay homage to a comrade killed in the Second World War. A few days later I learned of the pro-Taliban march in Blackburn and also that an ethnic leader in Burnley was defending a Taliban fighter.
Such actions as these by the Asian community are more than welcomed by the neo-Nazis of this country -- the very sort of people that my comrade and I fought against so that all nationalities in this country can live in peace together.
Such actions pose the question of whether my comrade's sacrifice was in vain. I say yes -- God rest his soul.
