IVAN Lewis MP called a meeting with various organisations and local residents to tackle a worrying problem with the sewage system in Prestwich and Whitefield.
He said he has received a number of complaints about localised flooding in recent weeks and wanted to put forward the cases to representatives from Bury Council and United Utilities, formerly known as North West Water.
At least ten new cases have been reported to his new office at 381 Bury New Road over recent weeks and there is suggestion of a pattern as many of them have come from residents in the St Ann's Road and Prestwich Clough area.
Complaints include gardens flooded by sewage, over flowing drains and other water problems.
The cases are not isolated to Prestwich and some cases have been reported from Whitefield.
Those residents affected were invited to the meeting on Friday, (Nov 30).
Anyone who has experienced similar problems can contact the MP on 773 5500.
