NORWEGIAN frontman Egil Ostenstad today vowed to make the most of his recall to Rovers' starting line-up.
Ostenstad was brought back in from the cold for Saturday's game against Middlesbrough.
And though the game ended in disappointment for the team as a whole, the former Southampton star was just delighted to be involved again.
"We didn't play to our best but it was nice for me to be able to play again and I felt fine.
"Hopefully, this is a fresh start for me.
"All I've tried to do is keep myself fit. I've never moaned about the situation as I've said before.
"I've just tried to get on with it and maybe that will mean I'll get an extended run."
Despite Ostenstad's recall, however, the 29-year-old striker admits it's inevitable Souness will bring in reinforcements up front.
"I think he'll always try to get another strike in with Marcus gone now and talk of Ciccio moving back to Italy.
"But all I can do is keep on doing the same things that I've done and, hopefully, get the chance to play a bit more."
