ROVERS' two Academy teams face a tough double-header this weekend against Coventry at Brockhall.
And team coaches Ian Miller and Rob Kelly face an anxious wait over the next couple of days before they can finalise their plans for the visit of the Sky Blues.
Tonight, Rovers' top young stars are in action against Chelsea in the fourth round of the AXA FA Youth Cup at Ewood Park.
Then on Thursday, there's a chance players like Jon Walters and Jerome Watt could get the nod for the reserves' clash with Manchester United at Morecambe.
Therefore, Kelly and Co are keeping their fingers firmly crossed that all their young charges come through the next couple of days unscathed.
"It's a busy couple of days, what with the youth team and the reserves playing in the space of 48 hours," said Academy boss Bobby Downes.
"But all being well, we should have enough players to cope if the senior squad need a helping hand.
"Saturday's games could be tough, though, because Coventry aren't bad at this level."
After that, Rovers then take on Crewe the following week before shutting down for Christmas.
