MORRIS Homes, developers of Oakdale in Blackburn, has secured a prestigious What House? Energy Saving award.
The judges of the award scheme, which is run in conjunction with the Sunday Times, were impressed by the company's "commitment to energy efficiency in affordable homes".
Features include the latest in glazing technology and energy efficient central heating combined with a good all-round insulation package.
Managing director of Morris Homes Mike Gaskell said: "Where energy efficiency is concerned we believe in investing on behalf of the purchaser.
"Housebuyers are becoming increasingly discerning and environmentally aware.
"They can see beyond the superficial appeal of decorative extras and recognise the value to both the environment and their pocket of the many hidden energy-efficient features all our homes incorporate."
