ACCRINGTON Stanley have brokered a £200,000 deal with Blackpool to allow Brett Ormerod's dream move to Southampton to go ahead - but they won't be missing out.
The former Stanley striker is set to finally put pen to paper on a £1.75m move to the Saints after talks with Gordon Strachan today.
But although the Reds won't be getting the 20 per cent stated in the initial contract which saw the 25-year-old move from the Crown Ground to the Seaside in a £50,000 move in March 1997, they are happy with their share.
"We have done a deal," said Chairman Eric Whalley who is still waiting for the move to go through before he reveals its contents.
"But it has brought us a lot of money and we are happy with it.
"There are a few more things than just the money with the deal, such as Blackpool bringing a team to Stanley. It is more involved."
