WIGAN boss Paul Jewell is still hoping to land Rovers defender Jeff Kenna on a permanent deal in the next couple of days -- even though he is currently weighing up a number of other options.
The Rovers left-back spent a month on loan at the JJB Stadium but his spell with the Latics ended after Saturday's 1-0 win over Swindon.
However, Jewell was impressed with Kenna and is still hopeful that the Republic of Ireland international will move to the Second Division club on a permanent basis.
"Jeff is going back to Blackburn, but we are trying to sort out a deal to bring him here permanently," said Jewell.
"He's got a few things to sort out with Blackburn and if he can do that, we'll try to give him something to accept.
"We are desperate to bring him in, and he's very keen to come. He's done really well since he's been here."
Should Kenna stall over a move, however, Jewell will then switch his attentions to either Sheffield Wednesday's Ian Hendon or former Rovers full-back Gary Croft, who is currently out of favour at Ipswich.
