SHOPPERS in Burnley are being urged to seek out the "lobby bobby".
The new community beat officer in Daneshouse and Stoneyholme PC Nic Fisher is urging shoppers to come and see him at the Asda store, Princess Way, on Friday, December 14.
He will be holding a police surgery in the store's lobby area from 5-7pm and says he is keen to meet as many local people as possible and to answer any questions they may have about policing in the area.
PC Fisher said: "I am keen to get out and about and to meet many local people on my beat and that is the reason why I am holding the surgery at Asda as well as spending time going around schools, community centres, shops and a number of other local venues.
"So whether there is something specific you want to discuss or you just want to say hello please come along and find me."
He added: "I am more than happy to spend some time with people and talk to them about local issues.
"If the problem is from outside my area I won't turn them away, I will take their details and pass them on to one of my colleagues."
Anyone who can't make it to the surgery, but would like to leave a message for PC Fisher or book an appointment to see him, can call 01282 472960.
