A MAN was beaten up by two teenagers for just £5 as he walked along a canal path in Lancaster.
The 31 year old was walking under a metal footbridge adjacent to Aldcliffe Road when the first youth, who had been on the bridge, kicked him. The pair struck between 11.15pm and 11.30pm on Sunday. A second youth then threatened the man with violence. He was then kicked again and pushed to the floor.
At this point he handed over the cash and papers to the robbers, who then told him which direction he had to walk off in.
Det Sgt Mark Salisbury of Lancaster police said: "This man felt extremely intimidated and threatened, even though they were both smaller than him."
The first thief is described as white, 14 to 15 years old with a round face and a smooth complexion, clean shaven, wearing a light coloured tracksuit top with a zip front and a high neck, zipped to the top.
He also wore training shoes.
The second youngster was slightly older than the first, white, 15 to 17 years old, about 6ft tall, of slim build, wearing a light coloured woollen cap in a distinctive Ridge type knit.
