THREE people were injured with one driver having to be cut free from his car by firefighters after two cars were involved in a smash in Accrington Road, Hapton.
Vauxhall Astra driver Tony Colton, 29, of Forfar Street, Burnley, was trapped in his vehicle for a time.
After being freed by firefighters he was taken to Burnley General Hospital where he was treated for neck and chest injuries. He was later allowed home.

He and a passenger, Mandy Mills, 28, of Hoyle Street, Rising Bridge, were also taken to hospital for treatment for whiplash injuries.
The accident occurred shortly before 9am between Bentley Wood Farm and the Hapton Inn. An oil tanker travelling towards Accrington was also involved in the incident but not in the actual impact between the two cars.
