AS a nurse, it encourages me to see people in the public sector getting paid what they deserve.
It warmed my heart, therefore, to pick up your paper last week to discover that Coun Cllr Dr Ruth Henig is to collect expenses of more than £30,000 a year for her two posts with the police authority and the county council.
There's no room for jealousy here.
We can't complain that a person who is holding down a 'full time' university job is pocketing almost twice what my colleagues and I earn for her 'hobby?'
We can just hope that, next time our salaries come up for review, the authorities are as generous with us as Coun Cllr Dr Henig and her colleagues were to themselves.
