A LANGHO youngster has achieved the highest accolade awarded by the Guiding movement.
Marissa Pilling, 14, was presented with her Baden Powell Trefoil award by district commissioner Helen Whalley at a special ceremony at Great Harwood's Youth and Community Centre.
And the presentation was even more special as Marissa will be one of the last to receive the award in the area before the badge scheme is replaced by the youth group-style programme 'Go For It'.
The award is built up over a number of years, with guides first attaining their green, blue and red trefoils before moving onto the Baden Powell award.
Marissa, who is now going on to be a young leader and has her own Rainbow group at Great Harwood, received her award in front of guide leader Gail Rowe, fellow guides and young Rainbows.
