A BUSINESSMAN and his family have been targeted by raiders who stole more than £24,000 worth of unusual jewellery in a raid on his secluded luxury home.
The items were taken during a burglary at the property in the Clitheroe area last week.
The thieves entered the house during the early evening and took the jewellery, including a bracelet, watches and a ring from a bedroom. All items are extremely unusual and police say they have massive sentimental value to the owners, who have asked not to be identified. The property stolen is as follows: A Wellendorf 18 carat gold ribbed bracelet with two rows of diamonds valued at £6,000; a ladies silver and gold Rolex watch with blue face serial no A238478 model 134 valued at £1,500; a white gold cross on a chain with square cut diamonds valued at £2,000.
A sapphire and diamond ring on a platinum setting set with diamond chips valued at £3,500.
A fine gold chain with small diamonds valued at £700; a gents Bulova watch with green face and stainless steel strap valued at £300.
A gents Patek Philippe Aquanaut watch with black and gold face with crocodile skin strap, serial number 60605J 00T, movement number 303049714077644, Calibre 330 SC aut, Valued at £10,000.
Police have visited a number of jewellers and pawn shops in the area and alerted them to the property in case they are offered the chance to purchase the items of jewellery.
Det Con Alan Proctor from Clitheroe CID said: "This is a high value burglary and the items are extremely unusual.
"We would ask anyone who has any information about the burglary, or who has perhaps been offered the jewellery, to contact the police."
