A LANCASHIRE farmer hit by the foot and mouth crisis has received more than £1.2 million in compensation, it has been revealed.
There are 343 farmers in Lancashire who have received payments ranging from just £10 to over a million to reimburse them for animals culled in the epidemic.
A national Farmers Union said: "All farmers have stressed they would rather have their animals alive rather than have received this compensation."
