THE magical world of Harry Potter is soon to be used to promote tourism in the UK -- including the Bury to Rawtenstall East Lancashire Railway.
The line is to be included in a new major campaign to promote Britain overseas via the net.
Bury Metro's Tourism Marketing Officer Jill Youlton said: "Because of the immense interest across the globe which has been generated by the new Harry Potter movie, the British Tourist Authority, which is responsible for promoting the UK abroad, have produced their own 'Harry Potter discovering the magic of Britain' map website.
"Visitors can discover not only locations from the film, but also the magical and mythical heritage of Britain.
"However, because it is a steam railway, and therefore an obvious connection to the film, the ELR has also been included.
"In fact, the railway is the only attraction in Greater Manchester to be included in the guide so for visitors to the region, especially those with young children.
"It will hopefully turn out to be something which they just don't want to miss."
