SHAHID Hussain, 28, of Francis Avenue, Cheadle, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £55 costs by Blackburn magistrates after pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Bennington Street.
The court heard that police called to the area found a number of males dispersing and their had clearly been some kind of disturbance.
Hussain continued to shout abuse at another man. Michael Blacklidge, defending, said: "Quite simply there was a disagreement that got out of hand," said Mr Blacklidge.
