A 32-year-old woman was grabbed by the neck and robbed on Friday (Nov 30).
The victim was in Cambeck Close, Whitefield, at 5.30pm when a man approached her from behind and held her by the throat.
The thief grabbed her purse containing an unknown amount of cash and fled. He is described as white, in his late teens, 5ft 5ins, slim and wearing a dark coloured tracksuit and a grey face mask.
Whitefield CID are investigating the incident and anyone with information should ring 0161 856 8248.
