ROBBIE the Bobby was back entertaining the Gigg Lane crowds at Saturday's (Dec 1) match with Brighton.
But he is a shadow of his former self, much to the relief of Shakers' chiefs.
Last week the Bury Times revealed how the man behind Robbie's mask, local plumber Jonathan Pollard, had been sacked for unruly behaviour which included swearing at match officials, 'mooning' at travelling fans and fighting with other clubs' mascots.
But BT Cellnet employee Anthony Bersz, pictured with his mascot outfit, stepped into Robbie's world famous boots on Saturday and was well received by club bosses, players and the fans.
Commercial chairman Peter Young said: "Anthony did very well and is keen to continue."
