POLICE are still hunting an armed robber who got away with around £10,000 after holding a knife to the throat of a terrified petrol station attendant during a raid on Monday morning (Dec 3).
The 49-year-old woman had just accepted an early-morning delivery of stock and was going back into the shop at the Esso Ramsbottom Service Station in Stubbins Lane when the raider struck.
He forced her inside, produced the knife and ordered her to open the safe. He grabbed the money and fled
The woman was left distressed by the robbery at 6.20am on Monday.
The robber was white, 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, black trainers with a white stripe and carrying a black rucksack. He had a scarf over his face.
Detectives are seeking witnesses and have carried out house-to-house inquiries in the area.
