STAFF at a Pendle hospice are jumping for joy after being given over £3,000.
The money came as a single surprise donation from Barden Mill Stores, who held a charity bungee jump in September. Over 50 brave souls launched themselves into the air from the top of a crane to raise money for the Pendleside Hospice, in Reedley. Between them the sponsored jumpers, including 15-year-old Sarah Louise Harrison, raised £3,206.
Jason Fildes, managing director of Barden Mill and one of the jumpers, said: "The jump itself was very nerve-racking. However, I wanted to support all the other jumpers who had pledged their support to such a worthwhile cause as the hospice."
The money was presented to Pendleside Hospice manager Harry Grayson by Jason on Wednesday.
The day went so well that Barden Mill plans to make it an annual event.
