PENDLE-based businessman Lee Collins, managing director of the Prestons group motor dealerships, is urging people to help a young cancer sufferer.
Mr Collins is appealing to local businesses to follow in the footsteps of the UK's BMW and Land Rover dealership networks who have raised more than £3,500 of Robyn Brooks of Rochdale.
Robyn, six, suffers from neuroblastoma, a rare kind of cancer found in children and which can only be treated by new and radical methods in the United States.
He said: "I first heard about Robyn's illness in Rochdale where both of us live. The people and local businesses there have been very supportive and I'm trying to do my bit to spread the word."
He was hoping more companies in Colne and Nelson would join in raising money.
More fund-raising events were being planned for the future because the Brooks family still needed to raise a large sum to send Robyn to America.
