THREE youths involved in a violent street confrontation after complaints over loud music all kept their freedom after a judge said it had not been all one-sided.
Christopher Kormoss, 22, Leyton Kormoss, 17, and Paul Pradey, 25, had all armed themselves with weapons in the middle of the night, but so had the man on the "other side," who had a baseball bat, Burnley Crown Court heard.
Judge David Pirie said when such trouble erupted, people living in nearby houses had to put up with it, would be concerned and alarmed and the peace of their neighbourhood spoiled.
Trainee chef Christopher Kormoss, then of Norway House, Prady, of Atkinson Street, both Colne, and Leyton Kormoss, who lives in Kendal, were each given 80 hours community punishment. All admitted threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour. Christopher Kormoss and Prady must also pay £185 costs each.
Andrew Long, prosecuting, said a man named Geoffrey Douglas lived near Norway House where Christopher Kormoss had a flat.
Around midnight, he went round to complain about loud music.
He admitted he switched off the electricty to the flat from outside and Christopher Kormoss would say he was threatened and assaulted by Mr Douglas.
The defendants and others armed themselves and went round to the complainant's house where there was a confrontation.
Mr Douglas had a baseball bat and when police arrived, he was hitting someone and apparently being sprayed with CS gas.
