FYLDE folk have a unique opportunity to see some of the Borough's art treasures from the town hall.
Selected works of art from the collection will be on display at Lytham Heritage Centre until January 6 next year.
The 16 paintings, mainly watercolours and oils, all have a Fylde connection, either by showing a Fylde scene or being painted by artists from the area such as Richard Ansdell, Walter Woodhead and Walter Eastwood. Subjects include St Annes Parish Church, Lytham Windmill, Treales Mill and the beach at Lytham.
The exhibition at the Heritage Centre in Henry Street also includes a selection of civic artefacts from the Mayor's parlour, including ceremonial trowels, civic gifts from all over the world and commemorative medals and trophies.
The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm. It will be closed Mondays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Further details of some of the paintings in the council's collection can be viewed on their website at www.fylde.gov.uk.
