STRIKER Brett Ormerod could make his debut for Southampton at home to Leicester City tomorrow after his £1.75million move from Blackpool in midweek.
Former England international Matt Le Tissier is hoping the arrival of Ormerod, the former Blackburn Rovers youth player whose move has netted his former club Accrington Stanley a £200,000 windfall, will give everyone a lift.
"It's a big step up from the Second Division to the Premiership for Brett but hopefully he can get a few goals for us," said Le Tissier.
"Spending £1.75million is not a lot to gamble in today's transfer market and hopefully his signing will give everyone a lift for what is another huge game for us."
Ormerod said: "It's a big step up from the level that I was playing at.
"I will now be playing with and against internationals week in week out but I'm looking forward to it."
