THE FLOORS on the bus go low, low, low!
And nine award-winning Optare Solo low-floor buses have driven into service on The Fylde Coast for bus company Stagecoach.
Nigel Barrett, managing director of Stagecoach North West said: "The Solo was named because its step is 'so low' and is the first bus to receive the Queen's Award for Innovation."
He said the brand new Solo buses have been introduced to routes 169 from Blackpool to Wesham, and F4 from Poulton to Fleetwood. The buses can seat up to 27 people and also offer wheelchair access via a fold-out ramp from the entrance step.
Mr Barrett added: "Stagecoach in Lancashire aims to provide high quality bus services with greater emphasis on environmentally friendly, easier access and comfortable vehicles.
"These high quality services should also act as a significant incentive for people to leave their cars at home and take the bus.
