PENNY Farm, the Fylde's home for neglected and abandoned horses, is to feature in Channel Four's Pet Rescue programme.
The International League For The Protection of Horses (ILPH) centre at Peel played host to presenter Wendy Turner and the crew as they filmed a two-week special to be broadcast in the New Year.
Pet Rescue revolves around Britain's unwanted and abused animals with a re-homing appeal at the end of each programme.
Wendy, who is the little sister of the famous Anthea Turner, told The Citizen: "We have been here before doing an appeal on a specific horse but this time the programmes are about the work of the ILPH. It's fantastic here and has wonderful facilities. Each of the horses here has a story and it's usually a very moving one. Some of the horses have suffered such dreadful abuse and are unrecognisable when they arrive.
"We hope that Pet Rescue as well being entertaining is also some way educational to young people on the way to treat animals."
Wendy has been with the hit show for five years and is contracted for another two.
"Animals are a big passion of mine," added Wendy. "I don't eat them and I don't wear them."
