A SPECIAL Christmas post service to help raise cash for Darwen's youth groups is once again up and running in the Darwen, Hoddlesden and Lower Darwen area.
Last year, the St Joseph's Scout group and the Cellar Dwellars Venture Scout and Ranger Guides managed to raise around £800 through their special post service.
The stamps, which have been sponsored by Belgrave Carpets, cost 14p and can be bought and posted from the following shops: Henry's on Melbourne Street, Leisure Look on Blackburn Road, The Shop on Inverness Road, Lyn's on Kay Street, Rushtons bacon stall on the market, The Crispy Cob on Fore Street in Lower Darwen, Edmund Street Off-licence and Belgrave Carpets on the Bolton Road.
The service will finish on December 14.
Cards will be delivered by the Beavers' and Cubs' parents, the Venture Scouts, Ranger Guides and the leaders, from December 15.
Ranger Guider for the Cellar Dwellars Anne Cooper said she hoped the Darwen public would be as supportive as possible and use the postal service to help raise funds for the groups.
