I WOULD like to say thank you to the people of the Preston area who have so generously supported the work of the Fox Street Night Shelter during the past year.
Over the year 7,000 bednights have been provided for those in need, together with access to medical services, dentist, chiropidist and help to find their own accommodation and assistance to furnish the new home.
Christmas Day 2000 saw some 35 people sit down to a dinner which had been cooked by a group of volunteers, and we plan to provide a Christmas dinner again this year as well as providing each of our residents with a gift of some description.
We would welcome help once again of any description, foodstuffs, toiletries and underclothing as gifts for the residents.
Anyone who can help in any way is asked to contact the night shelter manager, Steve Mcgougan at Fox Street or by telephone on 01772 882859.
WH Hobbs, chairman (management committee)
