NELSON new boy Micky Batholomew is set to make his debut tomorrow after moving from NWCL Division Two leaders Stand.
John Bailey won the race to get the 35-year-old striker's signature ahead of rivals Bacup and he will go straight into the fray for tomorrow's Division Two clash at 16th place Cheadle Town.
"He has got a lot of experience and already knows Mark Canning from his days at Flixton and Nigel Coates from his time at Colne Dynamoes.
"He has played against us a few times and he always seems to score so I hope he will be getting the goals for us now."
Bartholomew is a well-travelled frontman who Nelson are hoping will start turning some of their draws into wins.
They have drawn six of their last ten league games and need to turn their season around quickly. But the omens do look good.
This time last year, the Blues went on a winning run of 12 games which went a long way to making sure they were challenging for promotion until the last day of the season.
"And we have Kieron Roberts back from America. He came about this time last season and he didn't play in a losing side as we kept the run going until he returned to the USA in March," said Bailey.
"He is here until the end of the season so hopefully two new faces will freshen things up and they can turn our season around."
Bailey is still on the look out for a defender to boost the squad at Victoria Park.
