Re: reply from Councillor Pat Catlow WE are sorry that Councillor Catlow took the article in The Citizen about Poulton (Nov 22) so personally as she is a representative for the people of Poulton and is a part of The Wyre Community Safety Partnership, which is not a one person crusade but involves a contribution from everyone.
Firstly, while highlighting that Poulton has a problem, no one is denying it is a great place to live and this is why the residents are concerned about the drunken rowdiness and declining standards.
We want to keep it a "great place to live", not to see it deteriorate any further. The residents of Poulton are proud of their town.
The way forward is to recognise that we have a problem and then address it the best way we can with all the people involved (licensees, club owners, the Wyre Community Safety Partnership and the residents of Poulton) working together for the good of the town. If we fail to recognise the problem, we fail our beautiful town.
Hilton Dawson, MP, has given us the basis for discussion and hopefully a way forward -- let us remember that we all want the same outcome.
Jean Preston, John Pickering and residents of Prudy Hill, Poulton.
