PEOPLE are quick to call Bury Council but, as chairman of Drinkwater Warriors Junior Football Club, I have nothing but praise.
From the moment we approached Phil Parkinson, the Area Board co-ordinator, we have had assistance all the way. He gave us contact with the Business Forum, councillors and council officers.
This help has been invaluable and the club would therefore like to thank Neil Long and his team at Craig House for their understanding of the problems involved in running a voluntary organisation.
The council have re-surfaced the parking area at Drinkwater Park and will be completing the job on the approach road in the near future. They have also revamped the changing rooms by installing new shower facilities and we, as a club, can add a few changes ourselves. This will be a facility that we can use effectively until we can work in partnership with other groups to put a Lottery bid together.
This letter has been penned to let the people of Bury know that the support is there through your area co-ordinators and relevant council officers, all of whom do a lot of work that goes unnoticed. I would like to thank these organisations on behalf of our club and add that I hope we have many more dealings with them in the future.
