A. P. TOBIAS's "unbiased" propaganda machine (Your Letters, Nov 13) continues to rumble on.

His defence of the most dangerous rogue state in the Middle East, supported by the most dangerous rogue state in the world, is really quite preposterous. But in essence, A. P. Tobias is, to say the least, economical with the truth.

Of course there were unscrupulous Palestinian absentee landlords who, quick to appreciate a deteriorating political situation, took the opportunity to make a fast buck. The Zionists, however, were soon to put an end to that.

Their solution to the acquisition of more land was to seize it. All too soon the lawful rights of the Palestinians to their land were destroyed. y 1948 three-quarters of a million Palestinians were forced to flee, leaving behind 400 villages which were immediately razed to the ground and erased from the map.

And does A. P. Tobias really believe that the Zionists, who have for so long and so successfully blackmailed world opinion, publish unbiased accounts of their endeavours? No one is that naive.

I have to applaud the Zionists for their success in turning ordinary peace-loving Jewish folk into pitiless hate-mongers when it comes to the plight of the Palestinians. Not the faintest note of concern do I detect, nor a hint of remorse. The fact that the Palestinians have been reduced to dirt poor refugees in their own country, and deprived of everything, seems to leave these people unmoved.

The once-upon-a-time Jewish victims of Nazism now applaud Zionist aggression, torture and terror. What a truly dreadful world we live in.
