THE Division Two top of the table clash between Courts and Howe Bridge Mills was a pulsating affair from start to finish with the eventual 1-1 scoreline unarguably the right result.
Courts had the better of the first half with centre back Dave Dooley scoring a goal of the season contender on the half hour mark.
Receiving the ball from a throw-in, he chested down and shot on the half volley from fully 30 yards out. There was little the Mills keeper could do as the ball dipped just under the crossbar and in.
Different story
Chances to increase that lead went begging for the home side but the second half was a totally different story as Howe Bridge dominated with David Hogan levelling on 56 minutes. The goalscorers for each side won their respective man of the match votes.
Elsewhere goals from Andy Turner (2), Dave Robertson and Jason Mills saw Three Crowns B to a 4-2 home win over Horns Inn, Andy Tipping and Russell Pitman replying. Right back Steve Greenhough of Three Crowns won the man of the match vote.
