A PETITION protesting about a rooftop garden having to be pulled down is due to be handed in to Hyndburn Council today.
Councillors refused a retrospective planning permission for the garden, built by Bob Landon for his three-year-old daughter Millie, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, after two residents objected.
Bob, who runs Bob's Chip Shop, in Catlow Hall Street Oswaldtwistle, built the £1,500 garden on the roof of his garage to give Millie somewhere to play. After being told to pull it down, Bob and wife, Linda, organised a petition which has been signed by about 500 locals in support of Millie's plight.
The family will be joined by Hyndburn MP Greg Pope when they hand in the petition at Accrington Town Hall today.
Bob said: "The response from the public has been great. They all wanted to put comments on, as well as their names, but there isn't room."
