THE EAST Lancashire Hospice has received a cash boost of £4,000 from the Blackburn and Darwen Freemasons.
The cheque was presented to a representative of the hospice at Darwen Masonic Hall. Blackburn and Darwen District Charity Steward, Ian Ashton said the cash had come from the Freemasons Grand Charity, based in London, which allocates millions of pounds each year to different causes.
He added that all hospices in the country had received a donation from the Freemasons. The cash given to the East Lancashire Hospice will be used to help to finance its running costs.
