YATE and Pickup Bank Chapel is set to benefit from the proceeds of a book written by two parishioners who have attended the chapel for more 50 years.
Agnes and Harry Taylor decided to write a book about the chapel following their retirement after deciding that it would be of interest to villagers and historians.
They said: "We have a beautiful chapel that dates back nearly two hundred years and little has changed during that time.
"The book details the past 50 years of life in and around the chapel and we feel sure it will be of interest to anyone who has connections with Yate or Pickup Bank, or to the local historian.
"An ideal time to see the inside of the chapel is at the Carols by Candlelight service at 4pm on December 16, when copies of the book will be on sale and a warm welcome will be extended to all."
The book is available now at the Council Information Centre in Darwen Town Hall, or by calling 01254 701543.
