THREE days after being charged with theft and being released on bail, David Kelly was arrested again.
Bury magistrates heard that Kelly, aged 20, who is in jail for robbery, was caught on camera at the Mill Gate shopping centre with some youths. They were seen lifting a cover on a stall and a number of watches were stolen.
Police were alerted and found Kelly and another youth at a bus stop. A number of watches fell to the floor and the pair were arrested.
Kelly, of Brighton Street, Bury, was charged and released, but three days later he was arrested at the town's Tesco store for taking a bottle of brandy and some cheese.
Kelly pleaded guilty to two theft charges and obstructing a police officer. He was given a two-year conditional discharge. and no costs or compensation were awarded as he is serving a custodial sentence.
