QUALITY buses launched by Burnley and Pendle Transport are also helping police to combat crime.
The new service boasts an on-board CCTV system with two cameras checking the interior, a third watching all boarding and alighting movements and a fourth looking ahead to monitor traffic movements.
Officers from Pennine Division including the Commander Chief Supt John Knowles will be taking a closer look at the CCTV systems tomorrow at 10am.
They will be taken on a short bus journey before returning to the depot to view the footage taken on the trip.
Chief Supt Knowles said: "We know from past experience how valuable CCTV can be in the fight against crime.
"Having cameras on board buses could prove highly beneficial for us, helping us to identify troublemakers travelling on the bus or perhaps outside the bus causing damage to the vehicles."
"CCTV could also prove to be a vital weapon when it comes to traffic offences."
