LEE McEvilly is not on his way to Accrington Stanley despite recent reports.
The 19-year-old Burscough striker was the subject of a £10,000 bid from Stanley but the club want more for the young Liverpudlian star who came through their youth system.
Burscough secretary Stan Strickland said: "We have had a verbal offer from Accrington Stanley which is not even being considered as it is nowhere near enough.
"We see him going nowhere other than to a Football League club."
Stanley have followed the verbal offer with a written bid and Burscough will hold a board meeting tomorrow night to decide whether they will let their hot shot go.
"We won't be railroaded into paying more just because people know we have some money now from the Brett Ormerod deal," said boss John Coleman.
"It is up to them. His contract is up at the end of the season and they stand the risk of losing him for nothing then. It is up to them whether they take the chance.
"Even though teams are watching him, we have made the offer. The ball is in their court."
With 14 goals in the league and three in the cup McEvilly is currently the second top scorer in the UniBond Premier League.
He has already been on trial with Cambridge United, scoring a stunning goal for the reserves against Luton, but any possible move was scuppered when manager John Beck left the club.
McEvilly struck a second half hat-trick in a weekend win against Whitby Town and he was watched by a number of scouts.
Meanwhile, Stanley are certainly not short of strikers after their 5-1 thumping of Bradford Park Avenue.
Just under 700 turned up to watch the Reds move into third in the league with Lutel James and Paul Mullin so far proving a dream team.
The two will be in action again tomorrow night when Stanley welcome First Division pacesetters Radcliffe Borough to the Crown Ground in the UniBond League Cup.
Radcliffe manager Kevin Glendon, a former Burnley player, has been diagnosed with a suspected heart scare and will sit out the games until after Christmas. He is not allowed to take any phone calls on footballing matters.
"I will give him a ring later as soon as he is allowed to take them," said Coleman.
Meanwhile, in UniBond Cup, Chorley will be looking to revenge their First Division loss to Rossendale tonight.
The two met in the league just last week, Dale winning 2-0, and they meet again tonight in the Cup at Dark Lane.
Both will be boosted by league wins on Saturday and the recent additions to their side.
Ian Barker is proving a hit for the Magpies with two goals since his move from Mossley at the end of November - his last in Chorley's 3-0 win over Ossett Albion on Saturday.
And, at Dark Lane, former Leigh RMI frontman Troy Hayder opened his Rossendale account on his debut in their 3-2 victory at Belper Town.
Chorley are currently second behind Accrington in the Group Four in UniBond League Cup, with two wins from their four games.
Rossendale are fifth, four points behind the Magpies, with one win.
The top three will go on to progress to the quarter-final stages of the League Challenge Cup for the winners, the President's Cup for the runners-up and the third placed sides will battle it out for the Chairman's Cup.
In the Worthington Challenge Cup, Bacup will be hoping they can finally host their third round tie against NWCL Division One opponents Maine Road.
And, in Division One, Ramsbottom will be looking to bounce back from defeat at Glossop North End when they visit Woodley Sports.
