IN response to the article "Heads 'hoarding' more than £33m" in which of this school is mentioned (LET, November 26). I am disappointed that we were not given the opportunity to respond to the ridiculous allegation by the NAS/UWT teaching union, that, yet again headteachers have begun hoarding their allocation.
This school is about to embark on a major building project which requires a substantial contribution from school funds. It employs more teachers and and classroom assistants than provided for by the county council.
How does the school do this? By planning its spending and thinking before it acts, unlike Mr Roger Haydock, the union representative quoted in the article.
R H MAUDE, Headteacher,
Chatburn C.E. Primary School, Chatburn.
