WHILE Shadsworth Liberal Democrat councillor Charles Mills defends his constituents' right to visit the Trafford Centre and the support offered by the council for them to go (LET, December 6), his party's boss, Coun Paul Browne, says it is a stab in the back.
There are only seven Lib-Dems on Blackburn with Darwen Council and yet they are split on the simplest of issues.
If I was a voter in Shadsworth, I would have little sympathy with the hollow words of Coun Mills because if his party won control of the council, Paul Browne would remove their trips to any competing shopping centre. No trip to Trafford Centre, no trip to Fleetwood -- only to Blackburn and Darwen. How sad for those like myself who cannot afford their own transport or are disabled and can't drive.
