MEMBERS of the Burnley branch of the Royal British Legion gathered for a special service to mark the 75th dedication anniversary of the town's original war memorial at Towneley.
The service was held at the memorial in Towneley on Wednesday morning after members met for coffee in Towneley Hall.
A free bus service took members took the ceremony from Burnley town centre.
The dedication service was followed by the laying of wreaths at the memorial.
Barden High School pupils attended the memorial, on invite from Burnley Council, and they laid wreaths.
