A MOTOR dealership is bidding for a place in the record books after hauling eight ski instructors up Ski Rossendale.
At an incline of 60 degrees -- twice as steep as a British road -- the turbo-diesel Chrysler Jeep had no problems.
Richard Cort, who owns the local dealership in Bacup Road, Waterfoot, drove the four-wheel drive jeep up the slope and found no problem getting all eight instructors to the top. Chrysler worker Chris Hamer said: "We had eight ski instructors who were towed up the slope.
"We decided to use instructors rather that just people who ski because if there was any problem they would be able to get themselves safely down the slope."
He said the whole spectacle had been videoed and recorded on digital images and they were going to send it off to the Guinness Book of Records to see if it was a new record.
The ski slope is also challenging other dry ski slopes around the country to see if they can better their record.
Darren Sienkeiwicz, duty manager at Ski Rossendale, said: "We couldn't imagine this kind of record had been set before here in the UK so we at Ski Rossendale wanted to be the first."
