LEIGH RMI will be hoping to break their goalscoring duck against Doncaster Rovers when the two sides meet at Hilton Park on Saturday.
The Railwaymen have failed to score against the South Yorkshire club in three previous Nationwide Conference matches, so Steve Waywell will be hoping that this particular run can come to an end as RMI try to claw their way from the wrong end of the table
"I am confident that we can get a result at the weekend," the manager enthused. "If we keep persevering with our game, the points will start to flow because you can count the number of bad games that we have played this year on the fingers of one hand. We have got a lot of confidence from the result against Margate and I'm sure that the lads will be up for the game on Saturday."
Doncaster, who started the season as second favourites with the bookmakers, have disappointed to date and lie in 10th place after a Jamie Paterson goal helped them to a 1-1 draw at Yeovil Town last Saturday. Paterson has been something of a bogey man for the Railwaymen, scoring the winner from the penalty spot when the two sides met last November and netting twice in a 4-0 rout against a tired RMI at Belle Vue in April.
Leigh will be hoping for revenge for a controversial defeat at the hands of Rovers in the opening week of the campaign when Chris Scott was sent off for a scuffle with Neil Campbell and Iain Swan was stretchered off. RMI produced a brave performance, but were undone by late goals from Tristran Whitman and Jimmy Kelly.
Leigh must emerge from the game with points after claiming just 11 points from their opening 11 games at home this year.
