TODMORDEN Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society is hoping to steal plenty of laughs with its first production of 2002.
After last week's hit presentation of 'The Rise and Fall of Little Voice', TAODS is getting ready for its next production, 'Theft', by comedy author Eric Chappell.
The production will be staged at the end of February and will be directed by John Spooner. John is a comparatively new member at the Hippodrome, but his performing and directing career stems back many years in both the professional and amateur theatres.
John and his wife Janet have performed with professional theatre companies the country over and he is very pleased to be directing this comedy at the Hippodrome.
The play revolves around two couples, one staying with the other, who return after an evening out to find that their home has been burgled. But the policeman who turns up to investigate the crime is not all that it seems to be...
There are a number of different roles in the play, and all will be welcome at the open read-through audition in the Hippodrome Foyer on Sunday at 7.30pm.
The auditions are very informal, and the bar will be open so that people can relax with a drink.
If you would like to be involved with this production, but are unable to attend the auditions, contact Andrew Rawlinson on 01706 813460 and he will make sure that your details are passed on to the auditioning committee.
For more information on the production itself, call Andrew.
