MY partner and I went for a meal to the Brown Cow on Haslingden Old Road, Oswaldtwistle, having cut an advertisement from a newspaper stating that two people could dine there for £5.
As it turned out, it was a mistake printed in the paper, but to the management's credit, they said the coupon would be honoured.
To people who like good food at a reasonable price, I can recommend this beautifully-furnished establishment. The carvery has very generous portions and a choice of different meals. I had a small bottle of red wine, priced the same as a glass of house wine in most eateries.
I did full justice to a superb meal in excellent surroundings. By my standard, it is well worth the money and worth a visit.
