QUEEN Elizabeth's Grammar School and Westholme dominated this year's cross country championships at Witton Park
Westholme won all three girls team events while QEGS won two of the boys races with both schools picking up individual honours.
Only St Bedes managed to stop QEGS from completing a clean sweep after a superb performance in the year seven race -- winning the team event and claiming the first three positions.
Curtis Pearce was first across the line followed by team-mates Liam Holden and Phil Jackson.
QEGS had to settle for second place with St Wilfrid's in third position.
While it was a fine running display from the St Bedes team it was a day dominated by the girls from Westholme.
The Blackburn school won the year seven, year eight and nine, year 10/11 team events with Rachel Wood crossing the line first in the year seven event.
It proved to be the schools most successful race after claiming three of the four top places.
Kara Shuttleworth was second and Megan Mousdale was fourth. Emma Vale was third to help her school to second place with St Wilfrid's taking third position.
The year eight/nine race was won by Carly Thompson of Witton but fine runs by Dominique Morton (2nd), C Kane (3rd), Sarah Proos (8th) and Anna Griffith (8th) guided Westholme to the team award.
St Bedes finished in second place with Witton Park third.
St Wilfrid's enjoyed individual in the year 10/11 race which was won by Rachel Holt.
Westholme duo Rachel Thompson and Sarah Blackburn were second and third respectively with Nina Chadwick of Moorland fourth and Candy Hamilton in fifth place.
In the boys year eight/nine race, Dan McLean of St Wilfrid's was first with A Smith of QEGS second and C Fox of Witton third.
Jamie McConnell of Darwen Vale was fourth and Matt Cheetham of St Wilfrid's was fifth.
Matt Wood was QEGS only individual winner in the year 10/11 race with team-mate Richard Benson second. Cam Winstanley of St Bedes was third.
St Bedes took the second team prize with Darwen Moorland in third place.
In the sixth form race, Lee Leishman of Blackburn College was first.
