BLACKBURN boss Graeme Souness could be ready to turn to Josh Wolff as the man to solve his side's striking problems.

United States international Wolff has swooped into Blackburn to spend the next two weeks training with Rovers.

And if he impresses, then Souness may decide to make the arrangement permanent.

"Josh played for America in Korea three or four days ago but he's now going to train with us for a couple of weeks and we'll see how things go.

"I'm told he's similar to Michael Owen in terms of his style of play because he's supposed to be very, very quick."

Wolff was recommended to Rovers by fellow countryman Brad Friedel.

And he comes to England with an impressive tracking record, having featured regularly for the US national side.

"This is a great opportunity for me to see something new," said Wolff.

"Obviously, it's a bit different here than it is in the States.

"But I would love the chance to come and play in England on a more permament basis, especially with the World Cup just around the corner."

Wolff currently plays for Chicago Fire in the US Soccer League but missed most of last season through injury.
