A DRUNKARD who turned up at his mother's work demanded a tenner for a taxi and threatened to make trouble if he didn't get it.
Burnley Magistrates heard how Lee David Wood, 31, was arrested after being abusive towards the woman after arriving at Marsden's Jewellers.
Wood, of Kelswick Drive, Nelson, was conditionally discharged for six months, after admitting being drunk and disorderly. The bench made no order for costs.
Christiana Buchanan, prosecuting, said the defendant, an alcoholic, had come to "the end of the line," as far as his mother May Wood was concerned.
Wood would turn up at the jewellers shop and cause trouble in the hope that his mother would give him money to fund his drink problem.
Brian Irlam, defending, said Wood conceded his drink problem had got him into trouble in the past.
