TWELVE jobs have been created in Barrowford with the building of a new SPAR store in a parade of shops in Gisburn Road.
The shop was due to be officially opened at 10am today by local primary school pupil Franchesca Howell, who won a drawing competition organised to find the lucky person who would cut the red ribbon.
Customers will be able to meet Father Christmas, win a DVD player and taste a wide range of products throughout the day.
Colin Butterworth, SPAR storeowner, said: "We are delighted to be launching today and we're honoured that Franchesca Howell, a very talented young artist, was chosen to open the doors for us. We're sure our new hot foods counter and deli will prove a great hit with everyone and we're glad to be able to give our customers what they want."
"People in the Barrowford area need and want convenience. In response to this we will be open for business from 6am until 11pm seven days a week."
